This fun book, written by the real Harper with the help of her mom — Amber Kuipers, author of When Grey Came to Stay — and Gus (of course!) is full of fun facts about elephants and realistic ways we can help them and their habitats.

Meet the authors

Amber Kuipers lives in a small town in Southern Ontario with her wonderful husband and three crazy but amazing kids. Amber loves to spend time outside either in her garden or having adventures with her family and friends. Harper and the Elephant is her second children’s book. Look for her highly acclaimed first book, When Grey Came to Stay.

Harper lives at home with her crazy parents and siblings, dogs and large collection of stuffies. She loves to spend her time outside looking for worms and potato bugs and of course anything having to do with elephants.

Gus loves to steal disc golf Frisbees, climb on couches like a cat, and sleep on your lap like a baby. He loves adventures with his family and is always the first one in the water.

About the illustrator: Marta Taylor loves being a children’s book illustrator and has a true passion for it. The art of bringing a story to life through a pencil and her imagination keeps her inspired to draw more and more pages that children can get lost in. You can find her happily living in a small town on the Mediterranean coast with her partner and joyful dog Kiwi. She loves going on long walks in the mountains with him and she travels whenever she can.

Harper and the elephant is a super fun story that really captures the hilarious and adventurous spirit of Harper while also educating it’s audience about elephants. I learned so much about how they live, magical poop, and most importantly how we can protect them.
