Muse & Brews: A Writer's Collective
Writing can be solitary work. The blank page, the revision that won't quite land, the story that's burning inside you but hasn’t found its shape yet—these are things only other writers truly understand.
Muse & Brews is a free monthly gathering for writers who are craving gentle community and solidarity in the ups and downs of the writing life. Whether you’re working on your first poem or your tenth novel, whether you write daily or squeeze it in between everything else, you’re welcome here.
When: Third Saturday of most months, 1-3 p.m.
Where: Éowyn’s Café, Durham, ON
Cost: Free (but consider grabbing something delicious from Éowyn’s menu!)
What to expect:
Bring your writing, your notebook, your laptop—or just yourself. Spend the afternoon writing quietly in community, share what you’re working on, or dive into conversation with fellow writers about craft, process, or the particular joys and pains of this work we do. There’s no agenda, no required participation—just a table of people who understand.
This collective will evolve based on what you need. As we gather and get to know each other, we'll shape what future meetings look like together.

How much does it cost?
This is a FREE event. There is no cost to you, but you are encouraged to support the café with a drink purchase.
Can I have my own workspace?
The space is small, and like the term ‘collective’ suggests, the vision is about bringing people together. You can choose to sit quietly and observe or work away on your writing, but I think you’ll unpack the real richness of a gathering like this by being open to participation and forming new relationships.
What’s on the menu?
Éowyn’s has a wide variety of drinks, both hot and cold, from coffee to bubble tea. They are CASH ONLY so make sure you have a little extra in your wallet when you come. Check out their Instagram page for a peek at some of their offerings.
