“I mostly liked everything from this creative writing workshop…”

— Jesse, 12

I learned lots of things that I was learning at school so it helped me. I also loved that we did things before we were writing like how to write a story.
— Lila, 11

Covering all the Writer’s Café instruction over ZOOM.

With four 35 minute sessions and a little independent effort, your child will end the program with a complete short story and a new understanding of their own unique writing voice.

Please ensure your child has access to a computer in a public area of your home and not in a closed room.

All sessions will be recorded and made available to guardians should they request them.

Monday, May 6 - Friday May 10 | Sessions from 7-7:35PM EST

 Who should sign up?

This workshop is designed for children between the ages of 9 and 12 and should be reserved for those who are independent learners with eager imaginations. Children must be able to write sentences and paragraphs without assistance. This is an interactive workshop and children will be invited to share their thoughts and answers, but only if they are comfortable doing so. This workshop is only open to 8 children/session, so sign up now to reserve your spot!

What happens after we register?

Your child will be mailed* a Writer’s Café workbook. (You can opt out of the mailing and receive a PDF download of the workbook instead for a small savings.) You will be sent an instructional package via email that includes the Zoom meeting link. Sessions will begin promptly at 7PM EST.

*Registrations have to be in by April 24 for the mailing to arrive in time. You can still sign up for the PDF download after April 24.

Teaching your children through kind conversation and gentle encouragement.

My child does better in a 1 on 1 situation. Can you accommodate that?

It’s not unusual for imaginative and creative types to be introverted and want to avoid group situations and projects. That is why I offer a writing mentorship program available to all ages. Available on a weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly basis, I will meet one on one with your child virtually to encourage, teach, motivate, and challenge them based on their individual needs.
