Drawn to You: Life in the Day of a Pencil ‘is a reflection on how fast life goes by,’ says author
by reporter JESSICA LOVELL — Life can wear a person down like a pencil is worn down by use.
That is loosely the idea behind a new book by Harriston resident Steve McLean.
“When this idea came to me, I knew it was something I couldn’t just let go or tuck away,” said McLean.
That was about a year ago, and he has now turned that idea into Drawn to You: Life in the Day of a Pencil, released in June by Varney-based publisher Chicken House Press.
Every life has a point. No page stays blank forever.
Drawn to You follows two pencils across the paper of their lives: falling in love, raising children, growing dull, and learning that what matters isn't a perfect line. It's the dancing.
Brought to life with expressive, Pixar-style illustrations, this is a picture book that reads differently at every age — and means more every time.
