The Word Guild of Canada announced its shortlist for 2023 book awards on July 20, 2023 and Chicken House Press was pleased to see The World Collective by Susan Cullen, shortlisted for Best Young Adult Book as well as Best Book Cover design.

Winners of The 2023 Word Awards will be announced on September 15, 2023 through a live streamed event

Also recognized was a short story published in the Chicken House Press magazine Blank Spaces: “Parking Spaces” by John Van Rys of Dunville, Ontario and a second book cover design for Fear in the Forest by Beverley Hopwood of Durham, Ontario (a commissioned design by Alanna Rusnak, owner of Chicken House Press).
