CHP Partners with Blank Spaces Magazine for Second Cash Prize Canadian Fiction Contest

I am so thrilled to announce that Chicken House Press, in association with Blank Spaces magazine, is launching the second Canadian short story contest with a cash prize!

The 2021 contest resulted in $340 being awarded to Ace Baker, a writer from British Columbia. The great success of the contest leads us to believe that 2022 will be even bigger!

The prize total is determined by the amount of sponsorship and entries the contest receives. Touted as a 50/50 contest, 50% of all funds raised goes directly to the top story writer. The other 50% goes to fund the publication of the finalists (the 2021 contest culminated in the acclaimed anthology The Things We Leave Behind), and an honorarium for the grand prize judge.

The contest officially opens for entries on June 1, 2022 and is looking for short stories (1000-3000 words) surrounding the theme of Small Town Summer Nights.

For a full look at the contest, including rules, regulations, and submission form please visit the Blank Spaces website.
